Community and Voluntary Groups, Organisations, Services and Support

Banffshire Partnership Ltd

Banffshire Partnership Limited has many strands to its business. The Community Economic Development part helps communities and community groups plan, develop and deliver projects through capacity building, assistance with funding applications and preparation of business plans.

The main part of our business is community transport for people who are unable to access conventional public transport. This might be because of rural isolation, age, disability of lack of confidence. We provide a wheelchair accessible Dial-a Bus service for regular or one-off shopping trips from door to door. When not used for the Dial-a-Bus service, our minibuses are available for hire by registered community groups.

Another part of the business provides First Aid cover at events across the northeast. We have a large pool of fully trained First Aiders. Some of the events that we have covered include the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy, European Pipe Band Championships at Forres and the Keith Show.

Training is another part of the business, either at our base at the Boyndie Visitor Centre or, if appropriate, at the customer’s premises. The training courses that we provide are:-

  • MiDAS (minibus driver training)
  • Minibus Passenger Assistant Training
  • Moving & Handling
  • Disability Awareness
  • Driving Theory Test Tuition
  • First Aid at Work – 3 day course
  • First Aid at Work – 2 day requalifier course
  • Emergency First Aid – 1 day course
  • Paediatric First Aid
