Aberdeenshire is currently home to around 258,000 people and by 2037 the population of Aberdeenshire is projected to be 299,813 (an increase of 17.3% from 2012 figures). To assist in providing services to residents, Aberdeenshire is split into six administrative areas; Banff & Buchan, Buchan, Formartine, Garioch, Kincardine & Mearns and Marr.  A variety of diverse and unique communities make-up each area, spanning into the Cairngorms National Park in the West, bordering with Angus in the South and the North Sea coastline in the East and North.
