For the first time, anyone can browse the Council's online database on its website for details of public consultations being undertaken by the Council.
Anyone with an interest in public consultations carried out by the Council will be able to browse the database for past, current or upcoming consultations.
The Council undertakes public consultations on a wide range of issues, from small consultations on local issues, to larger, Aberdeenshire wide surveys. All public consultations being run by the Council have to be registered on the database and usually their details are registered six weeks prior to the start of the consultation.
Members of the public can now view information such when the consultation is likely to take place and for how long, the method of consultation (eg questionnaire, focus groups), a short description of the consultation and (when completed) the results of the consultation.
An exciting addition to this database coming soon will be the ability for people to sign up for consultation alert emails. Similar to job and school closure email alert systems already in operation by the Council, subscribers will be able to customise an email alert, based on a list of local areas and/or topics on which a consultation taking place would interest them. Then, when details of a consultation matching their search criteria become available on the website, they will be alerted by email.
These new developments help Aberdeenshire Council engage with the wider community to promote and provide feedback on the consultations it carries out as a means of helping it shape and deliver its services.
The new online consultations database can be accessed here.
