Your Community, Your Future
Marr Area Partnership (MAP) have been working on behalf of the Marr Local Community Planning Group to support communities that want to develop their own Community Action Plans.
MAP can work with communities of all sizes on these plans adapting the process and timescale according to the size of the community. MAP have worked with Banchory, Ballater, Aboyne and Tarland and are currently working with developing a process with Glenbuchat a small rural community in Strathdon.
What is a Community Action Plan?
It is an assessment undertaken by a community to reflect the needs and aspirations of local people - your assessment, your needs, your plan.
What are the benefits of undertaking an action plan?
- To identify what can and should be done to benefit the community
- To get people thinking positively about their community
- To reinforce the proactive role of the community association or community council to raise its profile
- To help to recruit more activists
- To publicise and generate support for current community groups and initiatives
- To provide evidence of community needs
- To make things happen.
A presentation by Marr Area Parnership on Community Action Planning can be downloaded here.
