    Shell Funding
    The 2008/09 Shell Small Grants Scheme was open to Community Groups in Aberdeenshire.

    Three bids were put forward from the Kincardine and Mearns area with the full support of the Local Community Planning Group.  Two were successful in gaining funds from Shell:

    • Portlethen Moss Conservation Group were awarded £859
    • Friends of the Grassic Gibbon Centre were awarded £2000

    Community Planning Funding 
    Five projects were successful in receiving Local Community Planning Group funding in 2008/09. Kincardine and Mearns Groups were successful in receiving funding for their projects.

    • Grampian Police - to support additional policing in Laurencekirk according to identified public need
    • Mearns Community Council - for funding training for all K & M Community Councils, as need identified
    • Johnshaven School Breakfast Club
    • Portlethen Community Woodland Project
    • Kincardine and Mearns Youth Information Pocket Guide
