Our Community Planning Partners
Buchan Community Planning Partners
The Buchan Community Plan 2010 - 2014 is now complete and available to view. Community Planning Partners along with local Services, Organisations and Community Groups have provided content for the new Plan through their participation in a series of local consultations including 'interactive workshops', which has identified actions for inclusion from the emerging priorities of the Buchan area. Our Community Plan section provides information about the existing 2008-2012 Community Plan. Read more ....
Buchan Development Partnership
The Buchan Community Toolbox is an online resource created by Buchan Development Partnership to enable community groups to access information on all aspects of project development and includes a large funding section. The 'News from the Toolbox', Spring 2010 provides all the latest news and information on various Funding Grants available to help progress local projects.

Community Planning Partners in Buchan include Aberdeenshire Council, Grampian Police, Buchan Development Partnership, NHS Grampian, Buchan Community Safety Group, Grampian Racial Equality Council, Aberdeenshire North Access Panel, Bridge CVS, Grampian Fire and Rescue Service and local Community Representation. Partners from the Buchan Local Community Planning Group organised a 'Community Planning in Action' Event in 2009, to raise awareness of the local partnerships that have been formed to progress key areas of work for the benefit of the Buchan area. Community Action Plans
St Fergus is the latest Community to produce a Community Action Plan following a Planning for Real® Community Consultation held within the village during 2009. A number of Community Action Plans are available for the Buchan area including Cruden Bay, Fetterangus, New Deer, New Pitsligo and Kininmonth & New Leeds.

Reaching Out Project
A community based initiative, the 'Reaching Out Project' scooped the Best Team Award at the COSLA Excellance Awards during 2009 in St. Andrews. The project has been developed under the umbrella of the Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership and aims to regenerate the local community and provide better access to services. Pandemonium
A procession of pirates, smugglers, excise men and maroon sailors took to the streets of Peterhead as part of the stunning Pirate Parade 'Pandemonium'. More than 300 young people from the Buchan area worked to create the exciting performance, watched by more than 3,000 local folk. Read more...

The Citizens Panel is a way for local people to voice their opinions about local services. Participants are asked to take part in four postal surveys throughout the year, and can also take part in various focus groups if they wish.
