Locals invited to air their views at Formartine Forum

3rd December 2009

An upcoming event will give everyone in the Formartine area an opportunity to air their views on what can be done to improve the area.

The annual Formartine Forum workshop will take place at Meldrum Academy at 6.30pm on Thursday 3rd December 2009.

Previous workshops have raised a number of local issues ranging from health provision, policing and road safety to the provision of work experience and the role of community councils.

Many issues brought to the fore have been resolved in partnership with the communities concerned.

Community Planning Officer Lorna Harris said: "These workshops are designed to encourage wide ranging discussion with all of the public service providers and to highlight areas where people feel things can be made better."

The Community Planning Partnership plans to give further support to local initiatives and issues, and encourages as many people as possible to attend the discussion.

Organisations in attendance on the night include: Aberdeenshire Council, Waste Aware, Grampian Fire and Rescue Service, NHS Grampian, Grampian Police, Scottish Enterprise Grampian and the Formartine Partnership. Gordon Rural Action, Grampian Care Data, Advocacy North East and local community councils are all also expected to be there.

We want to hear from all those living in the Formartine community, particulary young people as they are the adults of tomorrow who can help shape the community over  future years.
