Overview
Garioch's population is increasing signficantly particularly along the A96 corridor. The two main towns in Garioch are Inverurie (11,060) and Westhill (10.054) while other settlements include Kemnay (3,765), Newmachar (2,374), Kintore (2,821) and Insch (1,635).

Economy
Much of Garioch's economy is tied to Aberdeen and the fortunes of the oil and gas sector. At the same time, commercial and industrial development has taken place in Garioch and key employers include Technip Offshore UK, International Paper UK, Stewart Milne Group, ANM Group and Mathers.
Like the rest of Aberdeenshire, agriculture remains a key sector and is often centred around the Thainstone Livestock Auction Centre.
Tourism
Bennachie is a noteable attraction and is surrounded by an attractive landscape. The Archaeolink at Oyne builds on Garioch's strong archaeological heritage.
